Here’s something for the weekend to dive into, has blue ever been a ‘go to’ colour (or color😉) for your bag? Never has been for me, even when considering spring or summer accessories. But 2024 could change me – the lady may be turned! The blue bags that are available instore or online are in lots of shapes, sizes and hues. So if you’re sitting comfortably, be prepared to be inspired.
Like the Minimalist Look
Let’s start with a brand that is loving blue hues, Burberry and their Shield bag. And a look ahead to the winter season, the boys haven’t been forgotten with the Shield Messenger bag.

Bucket Loads!
If you’re a fan of bucket bags, you won’t be disappointed with these three options. An icon from Mansur Gavriel, the soft blue just stands out from the crowd. And if 100% blue coverage is too much, Charles & Keith have collaborated with Shanghai brand Short Sentence for a two-tone solution. And for a handcrafted style, Bunnyhood is an artist who sells via Etsy. Check out the range of blue shades.

Pooch Pouch
From Bimba y Lola, what is a minimalist bucket style bag, this is the Chihuahua bag – dog optional😀

Textured Totes
When you’re looking for a bit more detail on your bag’s surface, treat yourself and head to Versace or stateside for Kate Spade NY.

Spring quilts
For those of you who love a quilted finish you are spoilt for choice. My stand out bag is the denim look from MZ Wallace but just check out their other options.

The Lighter Shade
When you just want a hint of sky blue in your look, head to Italy for design inspiration. Coccinelle and Furla have got you covered!

Deep deep blue
And to take the spectrum deeper, from big to small is Jerome Dreyfuss with a shimmering shoulder tote bag and a pre-order Ferragamo feathered clutch from their recently previewed AW’24 show.

There you have it, 12 designers with deep blue love for bags. You’re spoilt for choice, with options taking you from day to night, spring to autumn/fall. My work here is done, I’m all about the reaching for a blue.
