It’s not a surprise for fashion in pastels to appear in spring/summer. Last year we saw the resurgence of lilac accessories. Good news, this year, any hue of pastel will be on trend, as long as you co-ordinate with your outfit. And just like Max Mara who showed the leather bag in their SS21 fashion show, pretty does not mean small and discreet – this year any shape will go. Here are my five favourite pastel bags spotted on insta this month. Enjoy the inspiration from April.

The only trend to remember is to match your accessories to your outfit – spring and summer is all about toning. So if you love wearing colour, your bag should rock the hue too. Here are over 10 budget and designer bags of colour that are guaranteed to pop!

Before we say goodbye to February, let’s have a look at my five favourite bags spotted on insta this month. And this round up of all the lovely bags on insta presented an unexpected bag shape, the baguette bag but with that je ne sais quoi! Yes it’s true, the baguette bag (thank you Fendi) has been showing up over the last couple of seasons. But what I’ve got for you is a much broader selection of the wider bag. Newsflash, you no longer have to opt for the flat sided baguette, there is so much more on offer!

When you look at some of the trends from the men’s fashion collections for this spring and summer, the utility trend; bomber jackets and 1970’s retro jackets and trousers, designed with many jacket and trouser pockets, you’d think there wouldn’t be a need for men’s bags. However, keeping the silhouettes sharp, bags for men are very much part of finishing the look. Here’s a guide to the bags to wear in SS’21.

This Saturday Special is all about my favourite bags on instagram in January. And what I’ve loved is the resurgence of the top handle bag in smaller dimensions – suited to these days when we’re carrying less. What is great about a nano top handle bag (and I’m not often heard saying this) is that is can subtly smarten up a casual outfit – and let’s face it we’ve all been rocking the lounge look! So, what a lovely way to step into February, the month of love or if you’re into your pagan or Irish calendars, the official start of Spring – yes, for the Irish, the 1st of Feb is St Brigid’s Day, where traditionally the farmers start to sow seeds as it is the first day of Spring. Before I get too distracted by the many different cultural references, let’s get back to the bags – the top 10 of top handle bags for SS’21.

Fashion has long been accepting of incorporating high street labels into your season’s wardrobe and bags are no exception. And, the start of the year is often a time when we set ourselves goals, one of which might be to spend less or to save more. The good news is the high street labels, once terrible for good looking and quality bags (zips to tear your skin off, if you’re not careful) are now a delight for on trend bag fashion. So with the spring and summer 2021 fashion trends in mind, here’s my top 10 of high street hits for bag fashion.

Whilst next year’s Spring and Summer fashion trends were showcased in September, I think now’s a good time to get the key trends from New York to Milan put on the radar, so you can do some serious hinting for your Christmas list or see what you can spot in the new year sales that you can restyle. What trend will you be wearing next year? There are 6 to watch out for:

Something for the weekend is back for September and instagram has been trawled. And this month it has been all about the four cities’ SS’21 fashion shows; from New York to Paris (with the official opening of Paris on 28 September). To get a feel of how the four cities are reimagining their collection launches, in the new world of social distancing, some designers are keeping with the physical show where others are embracing the virtual. As a result, my instagram feed is full of video clips. So, I’ve viewed and scrolled and spotted some bags that capture the trends for SS’21. So, if you’re sitting comfortably, here’s a whistle stop tour of the shows’ styles.
