Bring on the Spanish fashion heroes!

When it comes to designer handbag brands in Europe, we’re spoilt for choice. France and Italy have both heritage and newcomer brands that never fail to excite runways and pop out in fashion features.  They’re the proven destinations for fabulous craftmanship, quality materials and style. But before we conclude the out right winner of handbag design, may I introduce two Spanish brands worthy of your attention. Vamos!

Lets start with the brand that is full of street style and fun, Bima y Lola. I first discovered them many years ago after they opened their shop on the famous King’s Road in Chelsea, London. Here’s the creativity the team ay BYL bring.

That’s just a small sample of the colour, cteativity and shapes og bags over at Bimba y Lola.

Now let’s move onto the brand that most won’t attempt to pronouce, Loewe. If you don’t believe me, check out the reels on insta with Dan Levy and Aubrey Plaza🤣. The Flamenco and Squeeze bags show the brands softer side this yeat but it was the Puzzle bag that put them on my radar years ago and still being modelled today. Thanks to Dame Maggie Smith in Vogue (UK).

A short and punchy edit or a flavour of the 2024 bag fashion from two very different Spanish fashion brands. Bimba y Lola brings a lot of street and fun. Loewe, maybe about quality, classic bag shapes, but they continue to reinvent. Head over to their insta to get a sense of their Ibiza vibes.

So before we hand the bag designer accolades to France or Italy, be sure to look to Spain, as they are turning heads too.
