This Spring you are forgiven for choosing a bag with its ‘all over colour’, likely to be a pastel (maybe lilac) or primary (pillar box red), the two key colour trends. Single colour bags are everywhere. But let’s not overlook those whose designs are intriguing, so much so, its practically art! Step away from the monochrome and say hello to the detail!
1 Furla this season has plenty of single colour bags to choose from. However, this Italian brand has flooded the Metropolis Collection with all over nature; from butterflies to this little number with birds and flowers!
2 Prada on the other hand has been inspired by the stories from comic books featuring bold graphic art all over a selection of bags in its 365 Spring Summer Collection, part 3 ‘In the Cities’. Love the bags and the prints.
3 Now at Louis Vuitton, their bags are no strangers to all over art. Remember the collection from last year by Jeff Koons (left below) who took the great artists and celebrated their work on its handbags. From Autumn/Winter this year, the house’s artistic director, Nicolas Ghesquière is placing design all over the bags too (right).
4 At Moschino, the fun loving designers have gone for full blown pop art on several of their bags shapes; with a pair of eyes staring back at you behind all colours of the rainbow. Here’s one of the most striking edits. Here’s looking at you!
5 Versace has never been one to shy away from detail. Take this little backpack from its SS18 collection. With its mix of ancient Greek art and icons with is Balletto print. Boom!
And just when you thought that it was all about the bags featuring art, you can rely on Gucci to take it further…spotted on instagram this week – the Gucci Ophidia belt bag on the artist’s model! Genius!
So there you have it, this week’s five favourite bag spots on instagram. Despite the colour blocking on this season’s bags; from pastels to primary colours; if you want more than a swathe of colour, why not go for full on art?
