Before we say goodbye to February and its extra leap year day, it’s been one busy month, with all the AW fashion shows and this weekend, every news site and magazine has been busy confirming the return of the 1990’s show Friends. And once you scrolled past images of the gang, AW/Fall fashion shows, with Kendall Jenner closing Versace in Milan, I wouldn’t be surprised if your scrolling finger gave up. But I’m here to reassure you that if you’re looking for spring fashion inspiration, the feeds are starting to fill up and I’ve got my favourite fashion bags spotted on instagram, as something for the weekend.
All of the bags included in this list of the five favourite bags, rock one of the SS’20 fashion trends. So if you’re sitting comfortably…
Nautical knots
Rope was spotted all over the spring/summer accessories, from rope belts to bags with knots in their shoulder straps. However, Esin Akan has brought us the Midi Chelsea. Photographed here in red but go online for the caramel with a contrast rope, which will be the best colour option to keep you on trend (if you’re in the UK pop into Harvey Nichols too as Esin is the latest designer to be stocked there),

Keep it green
One of the spring and summer colours is lime and thank you to our European friend Delvaux from Belgium. I’m a big fan of the Coolbox bag and they have given it a neon lime makeover. Top marks for street style cool. Merci!

Full of zest!
If you’re not sure if you can carry off the zesty colours; tangerine or lime, but want to nod to this part of the colour specturm, don’t worry, the London based brand Danse Lente (from the French, meaning slow dance) has got your back (or should I say front!) The Pablo bag comes in fire or emerald.

White out
It isn’t just the European designers who are all over their spring inspiration. Look towards Asia and discover Gu_de (pronounced good). I came across this brand about 2 seasons ago. If you’re not wearing a bright colour, the fashion is to wear white from head to toe, including your accessories. Love Gu_de’s croc effect tote bag with a splash of green chain.

A classic weave
Crochet bags, in fact, bags with holes were in various shapes and sizes on the SS’20 runways, even Fendi and Prada joined in on the act. And when it comes to weaving, the Swedish brand Palmgrens has been producing bags with rattan since the 1950’s. Any types of bag from bucket to clutch can be found at Palmgrens, however, the classic rattan is my favourite. And there are plenty of colour leather borders to choose from too. This season opt for a neutral/tan leather or white.

There you have it my 5 favourite bags on insta this week for bringing spring inspiration. However, before I sign off, two bags caught my eye. May be it was the return of Friends that got me reminiscing.
And just for fun…
New York isn’t just the spiritual home of Friends, but where hip hop and the ghetto blaster ruled in the late 80’s and early 90’s, so thank you to the design house of Judith Leiberny for this boom box bag! And never let the party end; don’t just eat cake, carry it with you. Well done Moschino for never allowing us to take ourselves too seriously.
Here’s to the weekend! Signing off now with a few quick links to the trends of SS’20
