…one of these 5 bags! Whether you need inspiration for your own bag collection; maybe you’re fed up with using the same ole bag or in fact, you’re fed up with having to return the gifts you received in the new year sale chaos. Are you ready to drop some (heavy) hints (by forwarding this article!) or make a note to self for any Black Friday shopping lists. Rest assured, there’s a bag in this list that you would be delighted to unwrap come Christmas morning. I’m delighted to present to 5 bags for Christmas presents for December 2021!
Working 9 to 5
Whether you’re at the top of the tree in the company (think Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada) or planning a promotion for the new year, from DeMellier in London, the Los Angeles bag, midi size is a perfect power bag that is also understated. It does come in two other sizes, one smaller and one larger, however, the midi will be the size that means this bag won’t look out of place if you go out straight after work. Also comes in 8 colours. Try the aubergine or deep toffee to catch the eye! Price £335. And for every item purchased, DeMellier fund vaccines and treatments for children in need.
The quilted bag is always a feature bag in the winter months. Hats off to Kate Spade New York who have brought back the fun with the Rubix colourblocked crossbody bag. There are two colour options; the pink-red orchid as pictured below or the deeper camel-merlot ‘grenache’ option. This bag brings impact on casual weekend days and can be crossbody or carried by hand with the optional handbag strap. Price £445.
Rarely can one bag rock a little black dress in the party season and a soft summer wedding, whilst keeping its environmental credentials in place! Say hello to the Sonia boxy bag from Charles & Keith. This is made in recycled nylon and features a sleek bag strap or a chain-link strap with works as a trendy top handle. And the options don’t stop there – there’s also a detachable card holder. Find this bag in the Anniversary Series. Go on, opt for the pink. Price £59!
When you want to be hands free, think dance floor, with your hands in the arm, here’s how you can keep your essential items on you. Introducing the slim and new Bonheur bag from the Italian label Coccinelle, in the croco print. The black version is featured here, however, shop around and you can opt for the forest green leather option. Price is £190 and is selling out fast.
On the move
I love a bag that can rock the corporate and casual days. And there’s one brand that does this effortlessly and that is the lovely Loewe. The Amazona bag is at home on the arm of anyone who loves a gentle nod to classics but isn’t fussed about being purist. This bag does have roots in the 1970s but has been reimagined with new dimensions and materials. Heads up this bag, the Amazona 28 is my most expensive option in the Christmas bag gift guide list. The price is £2500. The team at Loewe has enrolled the German fashion photographer Juergen Teller to showcase just how inclusive this style of bag is. My favourite is the lime yellow option.
