Roll up! Men’s fashion round up with the trends for the AW’21 season

Here’s the guide to what to wear – the outfits, what to carry – the bags and the colours, all from the designer AW’21 fashion shows. If you love a knit, you are in for a treat! When it comes to carrying your phone and wallet, keep your lines clean and avoid using the pockets and choose from one of the two bag styles. So if you are sitting comfortably, here’s the men’s fashion edit for this winter season.

What to spot for men’s fashion trends for AW’21

Top tip, there’s one guiding principle to be inspired by for AW’21 and that is the country house retreat vibe; think classics such as trench coats, wellies (gum boots), chunky knits. In and amongst the classics be inspired by some extra looks. Here’s a quick whistle stop look:

For coats

Leather is back – check out Loewe below. Think chunky dressing gown style – a thick coat and tie belt or trench coat style.

For jumpers:

You can opt for oversize jumpers in bright knits with high turtle necks. Go understated with a long sleeve knitted polo shirt to wear under a casual suit. However, to turn up the fashionista volume, grab a tank top aka a knitted sweater vest – check out Hermès below.

Keeping it casual:

If you haven’t opted for the dressing gown inspired coat, go for the pyjama look – check out A Cold Wall, their look is the most subtle version of this style. If you like a long shirt or tunic, pair with a jumper over the top, check out the look by Dries Van Noten.

Lounging:

For the bottom half of the body, this is the season to continue wearing shorts – keep them long. Check out Etro, which is channelling a warm golden brown colour palette, one of the key trends. One of the abstract colours, a shade of yellow, termed ‘illuminating’ by Pantone, was spotted on trousers in the Homme Plissé Issey Miyake’s men’s collection.

The bags:

It’s all about crossbody or tote bags. Dunhill and Etro went for boxy shaped mini crossbody bags. Then the totes came in all shape and sizes; from tall shopper totes, as sported at Fendi; to the classic wide tote bag at Louis Vuitton and Hermès.
