Quilting but not as you know it – not a patchwork in sight

This Sunday Special is dedicated to one of the key autumn/window bag trends, the quilted bag.  Once the style owned by Chanel, if you browse through instagram for inspiration, you will see that you don’t have to invest heavily to own a quilted bag next season.  And if you are shopping online, you’ll see more and more being added to some of the key fashion retailer websites.  So if you’re sitting comfortably here are my five favourtie bags from the ‘gram for your something the weekend!

Starting with a classic

Like a Chanel, this quilted bag needs little introduction and has the price tag to match, if you want to invest.  The House of Dior has taken one of its icon bags, The Lady Dior and updated it for AW’20 in a matte leather finish. Gorgeous!

Pretty in pink

Pink and red bags were seen all over the AW’20 runways.  For days when you don’t need to carry much why not reach for a Marc Jacobs Softshot, quilted and in a soft pink?  New this year and a bag that will help you transition between seasons.

Keep it street

If you love to stay casual but like to twist it up with a couple of on trend fashion styles, head straight to Bimba y Lola to check out #this is cosmic.  Flying through space here is the ivory padded nylon flap bag with an on trend chain strap; also in pink and black.

When it comes to leather bags the centre of this world is regarded as Italy and this brand is all about the Italian way of life.  Introducing Alef bags where they are proud to design, develop, manufacture exclusively in Italy.  Here’s the Miva in pink orchid.

Last but by no means least!

From the Pre Fall 2020 collection for Proenza Schouler, this is a quilted version of the buckle bag from Look No. 14.  And don’t be fooled by the name of this brand, it is New York through and through.  Jack and Lazaro met at Parsons School of Design and you can rely on this brand for interesting bags.
