There’s a tangible sense of optimism in the air; brighter days, vaccine roll out ,with what we hope, will be the easing of lockdowns around the world soon. Some of us are daring to think about a spring and summer wardrobe and getting out and about in our local areas, from March to September, is looking possible. Now there are lots of articles here at Bagwhispers to give you armchair viewing of the fashion trends for spring and summer ’21 but below is a quick demo on how you can take the inspiration from the designers and spend a bit more conservatively and keep to a budget.
Here are 5 favourite designer inspired high street bag options for your SS’21:
The Two Tones
And I’m not talking about ska music! In fact the expert colour blending of designer Gabriela Hearst found on her Baez bag (c.£2000) and transferring this look to a trendy oversize leather tote bag, courtesy of & Other Stories, priced at £100.

Forever in blue jeans
One of the themes from the SS’21 runways was toning – make your bag blend with your outfit (no colour accents please)! And if you’re forever in denim, here are two options; firstly from St Laurent, the Puffer quilted denim and suede shoulder bag at £1605 and at Mango, the quilted denim bag for £49.00.

Metallica
Both designers and high street brands showed they ‘can’ do metallics in a softer style of bag. Say hello this summer to drawstring bucket bags. Prada serves up a golden option, the mesh drawstring bag at £810. Zara brings us pastel pink (featured below) and green options, without the mesh and price tag. Price £19.99.

Sky Blue
If you like your pastels without a shimmer finish, you won’t be disappointed with the pastel palette this spring and summer which includes candy pinks, minty greens and soft blues. Max Mara went big and placed their leather Go bag in pastel blue, price £1075. Whilst the British shoe brand Russell & Bromley didn’t forget their bag collection and offers us tons of room in the oversized shopper, price £345.

Hole in my…
…bag but expertly placed there by braiding. A SS’21 look is ‘see-through’ easily achieved by mesh or braiding your top layer and this is for bags too. Whilst very different price tags, here are two bags that give your shopping audience a hint of what you’re carrying. From Fendi, the iconic Peekaboo in orange leather braided sides will cost you £5500. Whilst in the other hand, in a neutral, light greige, from H&M, the braided shopper for £39.99.
