Having spotted some of the best bags from well known designer catwalk collections to wear this Autumn/Fall and Winter, I was set the challenge of finding handbags that rock the season’s fashion trends, but with one caveat, all had to be priced under £100!
I made it my mission to select from easily accessible retailers, found on your high street or nearby city centre, so that you don’t have to drive 100 miles (with the added fuel cost) to find the boutique with the covetable handbag.
I’ve been to the shops personally to check the quality. I’ve picked up and held everyone of these bags. Some that caught my eye from afar were latter eliminated – you know the ones, with zips that graze the skin or maybe zips that might jam after 3 uses!
You will find many suede or textured bags have won through – believe me, some of the faux leathers were horrible to touch. I’ve selected bags for day and night, clutch to totes – I hope something for everyone. So if you are sitting comfortably, the results are in.
By day – for work
Fiorelli Rosebury Hobo, £59.00 at House of Fraser The shape and structure of the bag in the foreground of this pic makes it a great match for a long fluted dress, belted in at the waist, knee high boots and short jacket. Make the dress floral and you’ve nailed it!
Linea Suki Satchel bag, £65.00 at House of Fraser. For those requiring a smaller bag for work but with a strong shape. An ideal match to a soft blue tailored suit. Effortless chic.
Cracked leather Tote Bag, £79.99 is an ideal bag for the daily commute with its separate pockets and can be worn across body. Again a strong shape and a great contrast against a camel coloured coat with black knee high boots to match. Work it!
By day – for the weekend
Leather Bucket Bag £89.99 rocks the 1970’s suede, floppy shoulder bag. I find it hard to recommend a bucket bag (chasing contents around inside), however, this one stands out and is pure quality. Take it shopping sporting a big floppy hat too!
Grey Suede Shoulder Bag from John Rocha £79.00 at Debenhams is for those who are looking to add the soft silver/grey colour to the wardrobe. If you don’t fancy a full on metallic outfit, the bag is the best way to go.
Rittaa Shoulder Bay by Kin £55.00 at John Lewis is for those who want to full on metallic vibe as well as a strong shape. Try it against a double denim outfit. Is that outside pocket for storing a wet umbrella? Let’s face it, there’s gonna be rain!
Colour codes – by day or by night
Round YP Leather Bag £49.00 is the best quality red bag I came across. As the trend says, go head to toe in red and this bag isn’t too big to off-balance a full red alert! Love the shape too (seen in handbag designers collections such as Mansur Gavriel and Mulberry).
Jaspar Contrast Wristlet £69.00 bag is just big enough for the evening out – it will hold the phone, keys, lipstick and credit cards. This pink clutch bag also has a citrus orange edge. This colour trend is going to be a must have for the blondes and for anyone who loves to wear black. Boom!
Florals – by day and night
Fabric Chantal Backpack £99.00 can be found online at Kurt Geiger and some John Lewis stores. This bird and floral design is bold and ideal for brightening up a winter’s outfit, over a chunky jacket, when you need your hands free or stuffed into warm pockets.
Beaded Crossbody Bag £29.99 delivers the flower power and is an ideal size to rock an evening out. I’m not sure I would agree it is a crossbody bag (though the strap is long enough)🤓.
So that concludes my 10 bags for under £100 that rock an Autumn/Winter fashion trend. I hope you agree these aren’t designe trends that look cheap. And I can definitely vouch for the feel. Here’s to the next affordable high street hits I come across. Let me know what you think. Feel free to comment or send me a message
